Learn what to submit with your modification request for the most common project types. Here's a friendly guide to help you gather the necessary information for your project.

House/Townhouse Alterations Projects

1. Exterior Painting

  • Include: The paint manufacturer, color code, and color name for each area to be painted.
    • Example: “Siding: SW 7016 Mindful Gray”.
  • You May Also Need: A digital picture or physical copy of the sample color chips. Depending on the Association, you may need a sample of the colors painted on the home or choose colors from an approved color list found in the "Documents" section of your web portal.

2. Roof Replacement

  • Include: The manufacturer, type, and color.
    • Example: “Shingles: GAF Timberline HDZ Charcoal”.
  • You May Also Need: A sample picture of the roof tile, typically found on the store or company’s website.

3. Window Replacement

  • Include: A proposal from the window company and an image of the type of window you will be installing.

4. Garage Door Replacement

  • Include: A picture of the door you plan on installing.

5. Driveway Expansion or Repair

  • Repair: Include the material to be used.
  • Extension/Addition: Include a sketch showcasing where the extension will be located in relation to the current driveway, house, and property lines, the dimensions of the addition, and the material to be used.

6. Door Replacement

  • Include: A picture of the door to be added or replaced.

7. Deck Repair or Replacement

  • Repair: Include the scope of the project.
  • Addition/Replacement: Include a sketch of the new porch/deck in relation to the home, the current dimensions compared to the new dimensions, and if staining, the color swatch of stain with the manufacturer and color name.

1. Tree Removal

  • Include: A picture or sketch of the tree’s location in relation to the house and property lines, the type of tree, and the reason for removal with proposed plans for the area after removal.

2. Landscaping

  • Include: The scope of the project, a sketch showcasing where the changes will occur in relation to the house and property lines, and a list of the materials or plant types that will be used.

Exterior Property Structures/Additions Projects

1. Fence Replacement

  • Include: The material, fence style, and a sketch of the proposed fence location in relation to the house and property lines.
  • You May Also Need: A letter of approval from any neighbor that your fence will tie into theirs. Depending on the association, you may need to select from an approved fence designs list found in the Declaration of Covenants or an additional design or architectural guidelines document.

2. Shed

  • Include: A sketch or photo of where the shed will be located in relation to the house and property lines, dimensions of the shed, and shed type/materials.
  • You May Also Need: Depending on the association, you may need to select from an approved designs list found in the Declaration of Covenants or an additional design or architectural guidelines document.

3. Pool Installation

  • Include: Plans from the contractor, dimensions of the proposed pool, a sketch showing where the pool and equipment will be in relation to the house and property lines, and plans for screening around pool equipment (if applicable).

  • Submit Early: Don’t worry! If you submit a project without the required information, you’ll be sent an update via email requesting the necessary information. The best thing to do is submit your project as early as possible, once you have sufficient details on what you’re planning to do. That way, you have time to gather additional information if it’s needed.
